EQR Switch to XBRL-CSV Format
If your company files Electric Quarterly Reports (EQR), starting May 26, 2026 you must use a new, simpler filing format: eXtensible Business Reporting Language–Comma-Separated Values (XBRL-CSV), adopted by Order No. 917. This change is intended to simplify how filers submit EQR data.
Certain EQR Fields No Longer Required
As of May 26, 2026, companies filing EQRs will no longer have to report information about transmission capacity reassignments, index price publisher(s), and exchange/brokerage services in the EQR, under Order No. 917. Filers can stop including these specific data items in their EQR submissions after that date.
FERC Posts EQR Implementation Guidance
The Commission has published a new web page with staff guidance to help companies implement the initial EQR changes; the page is available at https://www.ferc.gov/order-917. The page will also inform filers and interested parties of future changes and next steps related to Order No. 917.
