Industry members that act as CAT Executing Brokers (CEBBs and CEBS) will be charged CAT Fee 2026-1 at a rate of $0.000001 per executed equivalent share for transactions in Eligible Securities. The fee is effective for the period from May 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026 and is calculated using executed equivalent shares (e.g., NMS Stocks count as 1 per share; Listed Options use the contract multiplier such as 100; OTC Equity shares count as 0.01).

Budgeted CAT costs and allocation

The budgeted CAT costs for May 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026 are $15,149,648 in total. CEBBs collectively are allocated one-third of that amount ($5,049,882.67) and CEBSs collectively are allocated one-third of that amount ($5,049,882.67).

Brokers may pass CAT fees to clients

CEBBs and CEBSs may, but are not required to, pass through their CAT Fees to their clients; those clients may in turn pass fees to their clients until the fee is ultimately imposed on the account that executed the transaction. The underlying CAT Fee being passed through is $0.000001 per executed equivalent share for the May 1–December 31, 2026 period.
