Fort Knox Airspace Redesigned; Small Reroutes Possible
The FAA changed the controlled airspace around Godman Army Air Field (Fort Knox). The Class D and Class E surface radii increase from 3.9 miles to 4.6 miles, the Class E area from 700 ft. rises from 6.3 miles to 7 miles, the Class E extension is revoked, and the Godman NDB reference is removed because it was decommissioned. These changes take effect at 0901 UTC on September 3, 2026, and the FAA says any costs are expected to be de minimis (minor), though operators who choose to navigate around the new controlled airspace could incur minor flight rerouting.
