Summary
Bars federal class actions that allege worker misclassification. The Protect the Gig Economy Act of 2025 would amend Rule 23(a) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure to add a new requirement that a court may not certify a class action when the claim alleges the misclassification of employees as independent contractors. That change would prevent Rule 23 class litigation over misclassification claims in the gig economy. The bill also includes a short title provision.
