Summary
Ban on EPA's use of IRIS assessments. EPA would stop using IRIS reviews
If enacted, EPA would be barred from using any assessment from its Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS). The agency could not use IRIS to write or finalize rules, enforce laws, issue permits, or build air toxics maps or other screening tools, even if other laws say otherwise. Regulated businesses could see fewer IRIS-based limits in permits and rules. Communities could see changes in how health risks are judged. It would take effect upon enactment.
