Buffalo Soldiers Congressional Gold Medal Act of 2025
Sponsored By: Representative Strickland
Introduced
Summary
Honors the Buffalo Soldier regiments with a Congressional Gold Medal. The bill would authorize Congress, through the Speaker of the House and the President pro tempore of the Senate, to arrange a single gold medal recognizing the regiments' dedicated service. It would direct the Secretary of the Treasury to strike the gold medal with suitable emblems, give the medal to the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture for display and research, and allow the Secretary to strike and sell bronze duplicates to cover costs, charged to the U.S. Mint Public Enterprise Fund.
