Apache County and Navajo County Conveyance Act of 2025
Sponsored By: Representative Crane
Passed House
Summary
Transfers two parcels of Apache‑Sitgreaves National Forest land to Navajo and Apache Counties for cemetery use. The bill would direct the Secretary of Agriculture, through the Forest Service, to convey two specifically mapped parcels by quitclaim deed if the counties submit written requests within set time frames: Navajo County within 180 days and Apache County within 365 days. Each county must pay all conveyance costs, including surveys and any environmental analyses required by federal law. The deeds are subject to valid existing rights and other terms the Secretary deems appropriate, and the lands must be used as cemeteries or title reverts to the United States.
