Deportation and entry bars for benefit fraud

If enacted, this would add new immigration grounds tied to public-benefit and government fraud. Noncitizens convicted of, or who admit to, the listed offenses would be deportable and inadmissible. Examples include SNAP fraud, Social Security number or card fraud, theft or bribery of federal funds, ID/document fraud, major fraud against the United States, mail and related fraud, conspiracy, and any offense involving defrauding the U.S. or unlawfully getting federal, state, or local public benefits (as defined in 8 U.S.C. 1611 and 1621). Anyone who meets these grounds would be ineligible for any immigration relief, including relief named in section 2242 of the 1999 act. It would take effect upon enactment.
