Entrepreneurship help at job centers
If enacted, local job programs would offer more information on starting a business. They could refer you to microenterprise services, as appropriate. Providers of entrepreneurship training would count as eligible training providers. Job listings could include entrepreneurship resources and opportunities. States would add entrepreneurs to workforce boards and consider entrepreneurial services. The bill would also allow pilot projects that promote self-employment and entrepreneurship.
Three-year study of entrepreneurship training
If enacted, the Department of Labor would fund a three-year, multistate study of entrepreneurship training. It would review best practices, mentoring, provider quality, and employer ties. It would track outcomes, including average earnings three years after completion. The report would recommend ways for states and communities to expand access.
