Designate Iran-linked groups as terrorists

This bill would require the Secretary of State to label the groups named in the bill as foreign terrorist organizations within 90 days of enactment. It would also cover any foreign group tied to, owned by, or controlled by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard. This label would block many transactions and support under U.S. law and could trigger other sanctions.

Sanctions decisions on listed groups in 60 days

This bill would require the President, within 60 days of enactment, to decide whether to apply sanctions under Executive Order 13224 to the listed groups and related affiliates. The President would need to report to Congress within 60 days after each decision and explain any choice not to sanction. The State Department, with Commerce, would also report every 180 days on new entities that may qualify for designation or sanctions.
