Promoting Opportunities for Non-Traditional Capital Formation Act

Sponsored By: Representative Waters

Passed House

Summary

Expands outreach and coordination by the Advocate for Small Business Capital Formation. This bill would add duties requiring the Advocate to provide educational resources and to host or participate in events that raise awareness of capital-raising options for underrepresented small businesses, including women- and minority-owned firms, businesses in rural areas, and firms hit by hurricanes or other natural disasters. It would also require the Advocate to meet at least annually with State securities commissioners to improve collaboration on helping small businesses and small business investors.
