Summary

Would increase the monthly housing stipend for Post‑9/11 Educational Assistance recipients who pursue programs solely by distance learning and are enrolled more than half‑time by removing the statutory "50 percent of" cap. It amends 38 U.S.C. 3313(c)(1)(B)(iii) to change how the distance‑learning housing allowance is calculated. The change would apply to any quarter, semester, or term beginning on or after August 1, 2025.

Full housing stipend for online veterans

This bill would raise the Post-9/11 GI Bill housing stipend for students who study only online and more than half-time. The monthly stipend would go from 50% of the applicable Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) to 100% of that BAH. If enacted, this would apply to any quarter, semester, or term that begins on or after August 1, 2025. You must be enrolled solely in distance learning and more than half-time to qualify.
