Tougher sentences for card fraud

If enacted, sentencing rules for access-device fraud would get stricter. The U.S. Sentencing Commission would have 30 days to update the guidelines. In cases with 10 or more counterfeit or unauthorized access devices, any unauthorized charges would count as loss, no matter how small. Sentences would go up by 4 levels, and if that is still below level 14, the offense level would be set to 14. This could lead to longer prison terms for people convicted of access-device fraud.
