More rural training for med students

If enacted, this would fund grants to expand medical student rotations in rural and medically underserved communities, including outpatient clinics. Grants would run 1 to 5 years and would begin once the bill is enacted. To apply, a consortium must include a medical school plus a rural health clinic, a community health center (FQHC), or a facility in a medically underserved community. Applications would be developed with the State office of rural health and must include plans for quality, evaluation, sustainability, and how local access to care would grow. This would add this activity to the existing section 330A program to build a lasting doctor workforce in high‑need areas.
