U.S.-made yellow pigment for road paint
This bill would add yellow organic pigments to Buy America rules. For road, highway, and airport markings, paint would need U.S.-made yellow pigment. To count as U.S.-made, all steps through the chemical reaction that creates the pigment would happen in the U.S. The rule would start at enactment for water-based paints and apply to all formulas two years later; OMB would update guidance within 90 days. This could help U.S. producers but raise costs for some contractors.
