New organic milk price and cost reports

If enacted, USDA would support programs to collect and publish the cost to produce organic milk. Data would include costs and prices for major organic feed like corn, corn silage, soybeans, sorghum, oilseeds, small grains, forage crops, pasture, and hay, plus other production costs. Within 90 days, USDA would launch a monthly Organic All Milk Prices Survey. It would report what organic dairy farmers are paid and prices for organic milk cows, nationwide and for at least six top-producing regions. Within 180 days, USDA would publish state cost data, regional production volumes, mailbox prices for those six regions, and major feed prices using NASS, ERS, or AMS data.
