Summary

Requires the Secret Service to record all communications between agents protecting a covered person. The bill would require those recordings to be kept at least 90 days before deletion, and to be retained for at least 18 months if requested by certain congressional committees. If there is an attempt on or actual harm to the protected person, the recordings would be made available on request to the House and Senate Appropriations and Judiciary committees, the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, the House Committee on Homeland Security, and the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.

If certain House or Senate committees ask, the agency would keep recordings for at least 18 months. If someone tries to harm, or harms, a protected person, those committees could get the recordings on request.
