This bill would create a new program to fix local rural roads and bridges that serve farms. States would get 0.536027% of certain federal highway funds for these projects. Money could go to remove bridge weight limits, improve first- and last-mile access to farms and ag facilities, support certain freight projects, and make high-risk rural roads safer. Projects would have to be on local roads or rural minor collectors. The federal government could cover up to 90% of project costs. It would also adjust other highway funding formulas to fit this new program.
