More Impact Aid for local schools
This bill would authorize more Impact Aid for K-12 school districts affected by federal land. Basic payments would be about $1.49 billion in FY2026, rising to about $2.35 billion in FY2031. Payments for federal property would be $85 million in FY2026 and $250 million in FY2031. Payments for children with disabilities would be $50 million in FY2026 and $120 million in FY2031. Funds would help replace lost local taxes and support student services, including special education.
More school construction money for impacted districts
This bill would authorize Impact Aid money for school construction in eligible districts. Funding would be $20 million in FY2026 and grow to $45 million in FY2031. Districts could use it to build, repair, and improve school facilities.
