Show full summary
- Farmers and ranchers in geographically disadvantaged areas get a steadier reimbursement stream. Annual funding rises from $10 million in FY2026 to $15 million in FY2031 and remains at or above $15 million thereafter.
- The Department of Agriculture gains a dedicated funding mechanism under Section 1621 that removes the phrase making actions "subject to the availability of funds," clarifying the authority to carry out payments.
- Payment caps are replaced with a rule that there is no payment limitation for a fiscal year if available funds equal or exceed applications, which can allow larger reimbursements when demand is fully funded.

More guaranteed funding for remote farmers and ranchers
If enacted, this bill would back reimbursements for geographically disadvantaged farmers and ranchers with mandatory money. It would require using Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) funds of $10 million in FY2026, $11 million in FY2027, $12 million in FY2028, $13 million in FY2029, $14 million in FY2030, and $15 million in FY2031 and every year after. In years when funding can cover all approved applications, no payment cap would apply. The Secretary’s authority would not be tied to “subject to available funds” language. The funding schedule would start in FY2026.
