Show full summary
- Collectors and the general public get limited-run semiquincentennial $2.50 coins in three styles sold as numismatics for collectors and enthusiasts.
- The bill requires specific designs for a two-year period after issuance: an obverse showing allegorical liberty with the Declaration of Independence and a reverse showing Independence Hall, plus inscriptions "Semiquincentennial of the United States" and "1776-2026".
- The Secretary of the Treasury, through the U.S. Mint, must deliver a comprehensive feasibility report by September 15, 2026. The report must analyze historical use, production costs, cost-effectiveness, commerce benefits, physical specs, stakeholder views, seigniorage potential, and a plan for test production and phased circulation.

Commemorative $2.50 coins for collectors
If enacted, the Treasury would mint special $2.50 commemorative coins for America’s 250th. It would allow up to 100,000 gold coins (4.1795 grams, 0.425 inches, at least 90% gold), up to 300,000 silver coins (26.73 grams, 1.5 inches, at least 90% silver), and up to 750,000 other coins (11.34 grams, 1.205 inches, half-dollar specifications). For two years after the first issue, the coins would use the 1926 Liberty and Independence Hall designs and say "Semiquincentennial of the United States" and "1776-2026." Congress states these coins should be issued by July 4, 2026, or as soon as feasible. Treasury would also study a $2.50 coin for everyday circulation and report to Congress by September 15, 2026.
