This bill would _exclude VA disability compensation and dependency and indemnity compensation from household income for HUD housing assistance programs_. That change would stop those VA payments from being counted when deciding eligibility, benefit levels, and rent for households in HUD programs.

- Veterans and their families would not have VA disability or survivor payments counted as income when applying for or living in HUD-assisted housing. That may make some households eligible for assistance or lower the rent they pay.
- Public housing tenants and other HUD-assisted households with a member receiving those VA payments would see those amounts ignored in income calculations used to set benefit levels and tenant rent shares.
- Housing agencies and HUD administrators would be required to exclude these specific VA payments when determining household income for program eligibility, benefit amounts, and rent calculations.
