Rural Development office for Guam and Western Pacific
This bill would name the Guam and Western Pacific office as USDA Rural Development’s official office for the region. The Secretary of Agriculture and the Undersecretary for Rural Development would have to make this change within 90 days after enactment. It would cover Guam; the Northern Mariana Islands; American Samoa; the Marshall Islands; Palau; and the Federated States of Micronesia. The office would get the same authority as a state Rural Development office. If you live or run a farm or small business there, this could make it easier to apply for USDA loans, grants, housing, and community programs.
