Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 0 costs, 0 mixed.

Regular national exercise guidance for Americans

If enacted, HHS would publish national physical activity advice by December 31, 2029. HHS would issue a new report at least every 10 years. An update would come 5 years after the first report, then at least every 10 years. The advice would use current science and include tips for groups like children and people with disabilities, including how to avoid inactivity. When a federal agency proposes different activity guidance, it would need to consider the HHS report.

No federal fitness mandates on individuals

You would not be legally bound by any fitness standards under this Act. No federal rule from this Act could force you to meet a physical fitness level. This would take effect at enactment.
