Blocks OSHA workplace heat rule

If enacted, the bill would bar the Secretary of Labor from finalizing, implementing, or enforcing OSHA's proposed heat-prevention standard published Aug. 30, 2024 (89 Fed. Reg. 70698). It would also bar any revised or substantially similar heat-prevention standard. Workers covered by OSHA would not receive the protections the rule would have required. Employers would not have to follow those protections. The change would take effect if the bill is enacted and contains no funding, exceptions, or a sunset date.
