Show full summary
- Pregnant people and families would pay no more out-of-pocket for prenatal imaging and office visits received before a miscarriage or stillbirth than they would have under the bundled payment.
- Plans and insurers that use bundled birth payments would need to limit cost sharing for those prenatal services to the amount that the bundle would have required if the birth had occurred. This takes effect for plan years beginning January 1, 2027.

Cap prenatal costs after pregnancy loss
This bill would limit what health plans can charge for prenatal care if a pregnancy ends in miscarriage or stillbirth. It would apply only when your group or individual plan uses a bundled payment for birth that includes prenatal visits and tests. If the bundle is not paid, your deductible, copays, and coinsurance for prenatal care could not be more than what you would have owed under the bundle. It would start for plan years beginning on or after January 1, 2027.
