Increasing Medication Access for Seniors Act of 2025
Sponsored By: Representative Kiggans (VA)
Introduced
Summary
Regular HHS reports on a monthly capped cost-sharing option for Medicare Part D drugs would track who chooses that payment method and what steps are taken to let enrollees opt in at the pharmacy or checkout.
Show full summary
- Seniors and Medicare Part D enrollees would get better visibility into uptake because reports must show how many enrollees made the election and break that down by census region and by plan type, including prescription drug plans and Medicare Advantage prescription drug (MA-PD) plans.
- Health care providers, pharmacies, pharmacy benefit managers, and insurers would see what actions HHS took to enable point-of-sale elections and what outreach methods were used, including Medicare.gov, the Medicare & You handbook, 1-800-MEDICARE, and provider resources.
- Congress and plan administrators would receive frequent data to assess program reach and gaps, with the first report due within 3 months, then every 3 months for the first year, and annually thereafter through March 31, 2031.
