More loan relief for bilingual teachers
If enacted, this bill would let more elementary and secondary teachers get federal student loan forgiveness or cancellation. You would qualify if your main job is teaching English learners or if you are a bilingual or dual language immersion teacher. You would still need to meet the usual service and other legal requirements and get certification from your school or educational service agency that your duties match your training and that you have the needed teaching skills. This change would take effect on the date of enactment and apply to people who become eligible after that date.
