Faster Social Security and Medicare for Young-Onset Alzheimer's

If enacted, the bill would add “young-onset Alzheimer's” to the list of conditions that skip the five-month waiting period for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI). The SSDI change would apply to disability applications filed after the date that is five months before enactment. The bill would also waive the 24-month Medicare waiting period for people the SSA defines as having young-onset Alzheimer's for months beginning after enactment.
