More Medicare cardiac rehab access

If enacted, Medicare would allow cardiac rehabilitation to be ordered or supervised by physician assistants, nurse practitioners, or clinical nurse specialists. It would also allow cardiac rehab to be provided in the broader "office setting" instead of only a physician's office. These changes would apply to services furnished on or after the date that is six months after enactment. You would still need to meet Medicare rules to qualify for cardiac rehab.

More Medicare pulmonary rehab access

If enacted, Medicare would allow pulmonary rehabilitation exercise to be prescribed by physician assistants, nurse practitioners, or clinical nurse specialists as well as physicians. The bill would also recognize those practitioners in supervisory roles for pulmonary rehab. These changes would apply to services furnished on or after the date that is six months after enactment. You would still need to meet Medicare rules to qualify for pulmonary rehab.
