Stronger futures market advisory committees
If enacted, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission would have to set up advisory committees to discuss its regulatory work. Those committees would meet as often as needed and would send reports and recommendations to the Commission, including minority views. Advisory committees created under this rule would have to follow the Federal Advisory Committee Act. Existing CFTC advisory committees with a current charter would be allowed to keep operating under their charter or prior rules until the charter is renewed or September 30, 2026, whichever comes first. The rule would take effect upon enactment.
