Work and benefit rules for Purple Heart

If enacted, Purple Heart recipients with disabilities tied to that award would qualify for the higher SGA earnings rule. This would let them earn more before loss of entitlement. At the same time, monthly disability checks would be cut $1 for every $4 earned above the monthly SGA limit. Cuts could not reduce a payment below $0 and would reduce any Section 202 benefit by the same share. These rules would start for benefits payable six months after enactment.
