E-Verify required for commercial driver licenses
This bill would require states to check your work authorization through the federal E-Verify program (as defined in 8 U.S.C. 1324a note). Verification would have to be completed when you apply for a new commercial driver's license or to renew one. If you are not verified, your state would not issue or renew your CDL, which would affect jobs that need a CDL. This section of the bill does not set an effective date or a phase-in schedule.
