Guidance on Safer Rail Crossings

This bill would require the Secretary of Transportation, through the Federal Highway Administration, to issue guidance within 1 year after enactment. The guidance would explain which rail-highway crossing safety projects States may pay for using the Section 130 set-aside. The bill would not provide new money or change federal funding levels. If issued, the guidance could change which projects States prioritize and help reduce trespassing deaths at rail crossings.
