U.S. Flag on Foreign Aid
This bill would require the United States flag to be clearly shown on tangible foreign assistance. "Foreign assistance" would include buildings, equipment, vehicles, project signs, food aid, medical supplies, and public outreach like banners, websites, and social media. The flag would normally be the only visible brand, but the Secretary of State would be able to allow other logos for formal international agreements, to identify implementing partners if the U.S. flag stays most prominent, or for any other reason the Secretary finds necessary. The Secretary of State would also be able to waive the rule to protect safety in high-risk locations and would have to issue regulations on flag size, color, placement, and other display rules. These requirements would apply to foreign assistance provided after the date of enactment.
