Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.

Higher Medicare APM payments for 2027

If enacted, this bill would set the APM incentive rate for 2027 at 3.53 percent instead of 1.88 percent. This would raise incentive payments for clinicians and other providers who participate in eligible alternative payment models in 2027. The change would take effect upon enactment. If you are not in an eligible APM, this would not apply to you.

Shift Medicare payment year references

If enacted, this bill would move certain year references in Medicare physician payment rules forward by one year (for example, 2026 to 2027 and 2027 to 2028). The change would apply to statutory timing in section 1848 of the Social Security Act and take effect upon enactment. This is mainly a technical timing fix and is unlikely to change most patients' payments directly.
