Keep public housing approvals after conversion
If enacted, public housing projects with approvals under section 7 of the U.S. Housing Act could keep those approvals when they convert to the Rental Assistance Demonstration program. Those projects could continue to use the same approval process for future approvals. Projects that keep an approval would still be subject to any terms of that approval and would need to follow the same certification steps used under section 9. The bill defines the Rental Assistance Demonstration program by reference to the 2012 HUD appropriations act, and this would take effect upon enactment.
