- The program would require use of the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) Cybersecurity Workforce Framework, regular curriculum updates to reflect sector threats, and annual reporting on credential attainment and employment outcomes for special populations.

Cybersecurity career training grants for students
If enacted, the Education Secretary would set up a pilot grant program within one year. The bill would authorize $10,000,000 and would limit any single grant to $500,000 per fiscal year. Grants would be competitive and awarded to partnerships that include a postsecondary college and at least two local employers in a critical infrastructure sector. If your college program wins a grant, you would be able to get cybersecurity training tied to recognized postsecondary credentials, work-based learning, and help with employment. The Secretary would consult Labor, NIST, and Homeland Security, require regional diversity among awardees, and require annual reports on fund use, credential completions (disaggregated by ESEA subgroups and special populations), curriculum updates, and post-program unsubsidized employment.
