Vehicle attack penalties for federal officers

This bill would create federal crimes for attacking or interfering with certain Department of Homeland Security and Department of Justice officers. It would cover using a vehicle to forcibly assault, resist, intimidate, or interfere with an officer while they are performing official duties. It would also cover forcibly assaulting, resisting, opposing, impeding, intimidating, or interfering with an officer while that officer is in a federal law enforcement vehicle. A person convicted would be fined under title 18, imprisoned for up to 20 years, or both. The change would take effect upon enactment.
