This bill would require the Department of Health and Human Services to study barriers to providing a range of contraceptive methods at community health centers in health care deserts. It directs HHS to examine reimbursement, inventory stocking, provider training, patient education, and other barriers.

  • Women in need: Focuses on women who are eligible for Federal health care programs and examines access to at least two contraceptive methods.
  • Community health centers: Directs an analysis of reimbursement, stocking, provider training, patient education, and other barriers. The study must identify which centers receive Title X funding.
  • Policymakers: Requires HHS to submit a report to Congress within 180 days that will show where contraceptive access is limited in areas with fewer than 1 community health center per 1,000 women.
