To amend the Public Health Service Act to reauthorize the school-based health centers grant program.
Sponsored By: Representative Rep. Tonko, Paul [D-NY-20]
Introduced
Summary
Locks in annual funding of $55 million for school-based health centers grants for FY2027-FY2031. It replaces the prior open-ended "such sums as may be necessary" language with a fixed $55 million a year and leaves program structure, eligibility, and other rules unchanged. The fixed amount applies only to fiscal years 2027 through 2031 and does not set funding levels for years before 2027 or after 2031. *Provides a fixed annual appropriation of $55 million for each fiscal year 2027 through 2031.*

More school health center funding
If enacted, the bill would set $55 million per year for the school-based health centers grant program for fiscal years 2027 through 2031. The money would go to eligible school health centers, local educational agencies, and community health providers. This would replace prior open-ended funding language that covered fiscal years 2022 through 2026. If your child's school gets a grant, students would get more on-site health services.
