End federal fixed-guideway transit grants
If enacted, the bill would end the federal Fixed Guideway Capital Investment Grants program that funds light rail, subways, and other fixed-guideway projects. State and local transit agencies could lose federal capital grant money. Planned fixed-guideway projects could be delayed, shrunk, or canceled. The bill would also repeal subsection (b) of 49 U.S.C. 5338 and make conforming technical changes. The text does not create replacement funding and the changes would take effect upon enactment.
