Medicaid demonstration funding and rules

If enacted, the bill would rescind the federal money appropriated under section 71118(b) of Public Law 119-21. It would also repeal Section 71118 and direct that Medicaid section 1115 rules apply as if that section had not been enacted, removing the budget-neutrality requirement for demonstrations. States would be able to run section 1115 demonstrations without the previous budget-neutral offset. If you are enrolled in a Medicaid section 1115 demonstration, you would see less federal money available or different services depending on state decisions. These changes would take effect upon enactment.
