Extend Health Coverage Tax Credit Through 2029
This bill would extend the Health Coverage Tax Credit (HCTC) by changing the tax code expiration to before January 1, 2030. If enacted, you would be able to claim the credit for months beginning after December 31, 2021 (starting January 2022) through December 31, 2029. The bill would not change who is eligible or how the credit is run; it only extends the expiration date. The HCTC helps lower health insurance costs or reduce tax bills for people who qualify.
