Celebrating the 60th anniversary of Medicaid.
Sponsored By: Representative Evans (CO)
Introduced
Summary
Marks Medicaid's 60th anniversary and would urge Congress to protect its future by reducing waste, fraud, and abuse. It would recall that Medicaid began in 1965 to provide medical and health services for children, single mothers, people with disabilities, and those living below the federal poverty line. It would note that Medicaid is a partnership funded and run by state and federal governments. The resolution credits the One Big Beautiful Bill Act with steps to curb waste and with adding work requirements for able-bodied working-age adults above the federal poverty line. *Under that Act, Medicaid spending is projected to be about $200.0 billion higher in 2035 than in 2025.*
