Providing for consideration of the bill (H.R. 5827) to advance bipartisan, common sense solutions.
Sponsored By: Representative Rep. Suozzi, Thomas R. [D-NY-3]
Introduced
Summary
Fast-tracks consideration of H.R. 5827 by setting specific debate and amendment rules. It would waive all points of order against consideration and against provisions in the bill. A substitute submitted by Representative Suozzi at least one day before consideration would be treated as adopted. Debate would be limited to one hour split equally between Representative Suozzi and an opponent. The bill would allow one motion to recommit, exempt Clause 1(c) of Rule XIX and Clause 8 of Rule XX from applying, and require the Clerk to notify the Senate within one calendar day after passage.
