Summary
This bill would expand the Talladega National Forest boundary to include the lands shown on the map titled 'Talladega National Forest Proposed Proclamation Boundary Addition' dated September 6, 2024. Inside that area the Secretary of Agriculture could use National Forest land acquisition authorities, including the Weeks Law, to buy, accept donations, or exchange private land, waters, and interests from willing sellers using donated or appropriated funds, and any acquired property would be managed under the Weeks Law and existing National Forest System laws and regulations, with the map kept on file at the Forest Service.

New Talladega Forest boundary expansion
This bill would add the land shown on the 'Talladega National Forest Proposed Proclamation Boundary Addition' map dated September 6, 2024. The map would be kept on file at the Forest Service office for public inspection. If enacted, the Secretary of Agriculture could use National Forest land‑acquisition authorities, including the Weeks Law, to acquire land, water, or interests inside that area. Any private land or water interest could only be acquired from willing sellers by donation, exchange, or purchase using donated or appropriated funds. Land acquired would be managed like other National Forest land under the same laws and regulations.
