Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 0 costs, 0 mixed.

Lower premiums for whole‑farm insurance

If enacted, the government would pay part of the premium for certain individual farm revenue or yield protection plans when you pick enterprise‑unit or whole‑farm coverage. The government share would be 77% for the coverage level the bill calls paragraph (2)(F) and 68% for the level called paragraph (2)(G). This would apply only to eligible individual plans chosen on an enterprise‑ or whole‑farm‑unit basis and would take effect upon enactment.

Higher subsidy for supplemental crop coverage

If enacted, the premium subsidy for the Supplemental Coverage Option (SCO) would increase from 65% to 80%. The bill would also change two numeric SCO parameters, replacing "14" with "10" in one clause and "86" with "90" in another. Producers who buy SCO could pay less in premiums because of the higher subsidy, but the parameter changes could shift when SCO payouts or eligibility trigger. These changes would take effect upon enactment.
