Higher pay and SNAP administration funding

This bill would require State SNAP staff to be paid at least the comparable federal pay rate within one year of enactment. Those wages would rise each year by any federal pay increases, including locality pay. If a State submits an approved personnel wage plan, the Secretary would pay 100 percent of SNAP administrative personnel costs. Payments could cover processing, hiring, training, and maintaining staff costs. Payments would only be made if States use the money to supplement, not replace, non‑Federal funds. Funds may pay existing or additional full‑time positions above the number held in fiscal year 2024.
