Health Care for Energy Workers Act of 2025

Summary
Expands who can order medical care under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program by allowing nurse practitioners and physician assistants to authorize services. The bill would amend Section 3629 of the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act of 2000 to add a new subsection that lets a nurse practitioner or physician assistant, acting within their State scope of practice and following regulations and instructions the President issues, prescribe, recommend, or order services, appliances, and supplies for a covered individual's illness. It also renumbers nearby subsections and makes no changes to funding or eligibility beyond this authority expansion.

Allow NPs and PAs to Order Care
If enacted, a nurse practitioner or physician assistant could prescribe, recommend, or order services, appliances, and supplies.
